In case you ever wondered...
A standard military ammo can whill hold $500 in rolled coins...just random rolls, not all quarters, or pennies...just random.
That $500 ammo can will weigh 56 lbs. Lift with your legs, not your back. :confused_ma: I have several of these sitting in the bottom of my safe. No, I don't know why. I'm sure I could find a better use for the $$$. Then again, I'll always have some cash on hand, it's just not real portable! If nothing else, it keeps someone from walking off with my safe...as if it isn't heavy enough already. It took 6 of us to get it in. I have no idea why I weighed these darn things. Had to put change into one tonight, and suddenly thought "I wonder how much these suckers weigh?". Just thought I'd share...In case you ever wondered! :rolleyes_m: Have a good one! |
Re: In case you ever wondered...
Oh, the good old olive drab military surplus ammo can.
Available in many sizes but most widely found in 30 cal and 50 cal sizes. The American standard for storage.usflag |
Re: In case you ever wondered...
I've got a couple of NATO link cans, .30 cal or so.
Very sturdy and useful, handy to have around for storage. Plus they look Gucci. |
Re: In case you ever wondered...
Whenever I go to a gun show I can usually find someone selling ammo cans for $3 to $5. Worth it if the rubber seal is in good shape.

Re: In case you ever wondered...
The plastic ammo can that Cabella's sends you with ammo sales will hold two $1,000 bags of 90% junk. Does require some encouragement and bouncing to settle the bags in.

Re: In case you ever wondered...
Yeah, but can you lift it by the handle then? I'd be a little leary of that plastic handle with two bags of 90% in it. Good way to get flat toes!:shocked_ma:
